Data transmission/data recording
When you visit this page, the web server automatically records log files that cannot be assigned to a specific person. This data includes, for example, browser type and version, the used operating system, referrer URL (the previously visited page), IP address of the requesting computer, access date and time of the server request and the file request of the client (file name and URL). This data is collected only for the purpose of statistical analysis. It will not be passed on to third parties for commercial or non-commercial purposes.

Subscription to newsletter
If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter offered on this website, we will need your e-mail address. Before we send the newsletter, you must explicitly confirm your subscription using the so-called double opt-in procedure. By this procedure the subscription is possible only for the owner of an e-mail address. No further data is collected. We use these data exclusively for sending the newsletter of Bayerische Museumsakademie (The Bavarian Museum Academy) and won’t pass it on to third parties.
The data entered in the newsletter registration form will be processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)). You can revoke your consent to the storage of your e-mail address and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the "unsubscribe" link in the newsletter. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out until the revocation shall remain unaffected by the revocation.
The data you provide us with for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted after you cancel the newsletter. Data stored by us for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the customer area) remain unaffected.

Registering for events
All personal data collected on this website (names, e-mail address and, in the case of events that are subject to a charge, address) are processed exclusively for your individual support, the sending of information and for billing purposes. When participating in events, you will also receive a certificate of participation and a name badge if applicable. Your name and affiliation will be listed on the list of participants. This participant list can be viewed by everyone involved in the event and, in the case of conferences, is part of the conference folders that are issued to all attendees. If you do not consent to the processing of your personal data, you will not be able to register and participate in events.
Provided that there are no further reasons in connection with a business transaction, you can revoke the approval of storage of your personal data with immediate effect in writing (e.g. by e-mail or fax) at any time. Your data will be treated confidentially and will not be passed on to third parties, unless disclosure is required by law. For events that are subject to a charge, we will also receive your account details from your bank. These will be stored at the Staatsoberkasse Bayern (Bavarian State Superior Bank) based in Landshut for at least 10 years after the end of the calendar year. Otherwise your personal data will be deleted by us only after your revocation of the declaration of consent.
The processing of your personal data is based on Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR, since you have given us your consent. In order to carry out events, we will pass on your personal data (names and, if applicable, affiliation) to the respective management of the event.
In accordance with applicable law, you can ask us in writing at any time whether and which of your personal data is stored with us. You can also request correction, deletion, a restriction of processing or oppose processing. You also have the right to data transferability of your personal data. You will receive a corresponding message from us immediately.
Your personal data made available to us will be secured by taking all technical and organizational security measures so that they are inaccessible to unauthorized third parties.
If you wish to exercise your right of appeal, please contact the Bavarian State Commissioner for Data Protection Prof. Dr. Thomas Petri, PO Box 22 12 19, 80502 Munich, 089 / 212672-0, poststelle@datenschutz-bayern.de.

Photographs
If photographs are to be published, you will be asked before the start of the event whether you agree and grant permission for these photographs to be published in print and online media without mentioning the names of the persons depicted. For this purpose, we ask you to fill in and sign the photo permits provided. If you do not wish to give us your permission, no photographs will be taken or published.

Scope of processing of personal data:
On this website we use the software "Matomo" (www.matomo.org), a service of the provider InnoCraft Ltd., 150 Willis St, 6011 Wellington, New Zealand. The software places a cookie (a text file) on your computer which allows your browser to be recognized. If pages of our website are called up, the following data is stored:
- the IP address of the user, shortened by the last two bytes (anonymized)
- the retrieved subpage and time of the retrieval
- the page from which the user reached our website (referrer)
- the browser with plugins, operating system and screen resolution

- the pages that are accessed from the retrieved subpage
The collected data is stored on a separate server. The data will not be passed on to third parties.

Legal basis:
The legal basis on which we process personal data through Matomo is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR.

Purpose of the data processing:
We need the data to analyze the web browsing behavior of users and to obtain information on the use of the individual components of the website. This enables us to constantly optimize the website and its user-friendliness. These purposes constitute our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. By making the IP address anonymous, we take into account the interest of users in the protection of personal data. The data is never used to personally identify the user of the website and is not merged with other data.

Duration of storage:
The data is deleted when it is no longer needed for our purposes, usually after a maximum of 18 months.

Right of appeal:
You can object to the recording of data in the manner described above in three different ways:
1. You can completely prevent the storage of cookies in your browser settings. This means that you will no longer be able to use some of the functions on our website that require identification (login, event registration).
2. You can activate the "do-not-track" setting in your browser. Our Matomo system is configured to respect this setting.
3. You can use the following link to edit the cookie settings of the site and deactivate tracking. These settings are saved with a cookie.

Any further use of the site is considered as consent. You can suppress the use of cookies by making the appropriate settings in your browser. In the security settings of your internet browser, you can allow or forbid temporary and stored cookies independently of each other. However, the full function for using our websites is only guaranteed through the use of cookies.

Use of ajax.googleapis.com/ jQuery
On this site we use Ajax and jQuery technologies to optimize loading speeds. In this respect, program libraries of Google servers are called. Google’s CDN (content delivery network) is used. If you have previously used jQuery on another page of the Google CDN, your browser will fall back to the cached copy. If this is not the case, a download is required. In the process, data is transferred from your browser to Google and stored there for a period of time.
